Braid and Flourocarbon Connection Without a Direct Knot

E-mail Print PDF

Blackwater tutorial Here is an excellent video tutorial on connection your fluorocarbon to your hollow braid without using a direct knot.  The connection is excellent for lighter lines (60# and under).

This connection is very small and smooth.  It will pass throught the guides with ease and even through the level wind on smaller bass reels.

Tools needed:65# Hollow braid, Leader material, 30# solid spectra,  60# rigging needle, Top Shot clamp (not needed but much easier to do), spectra adhesive and a loop puller (27# single strand wire works well for this).

Thanks to our friends at Blackwater International for providing this great video tutorial.

Enjoy the video!
