Rail Ready with Cold Shrink

Rail Ready with Cold Shrink

How to make a rod “Rail Ready” I just had a new rod made and was ready to add the cold shrink and thought I would take some pictures along the way. This is a pretty simple procedure but there are a few tips and tricks to make sure you do not waste a piece of cold shrink.

There are quite a few products out there that can be used for this. I will be using a full length piece of 3m cold shrink today. This has worked well for me in the past but is by no means the only way to go. Swifty Manufacturing has a nice product in which I will be trying on my next rod. Why do we need to do this, actually we don’t however it will help prolong your fore grip when using the rail.
