Boat Reports

March 6

Today's fishing went well. It rained on us in the morning then decided to blow from the south and south west the rest of the day, now the rain is hitting us with multiple squalls on the radar. The reds and lings bit, good enough, nothing stellar, with lots of other assorted rock fish to round things out. Only one giant squid was landed, which is a good thing.

March 5

We made it through the boat work season and are back on the water. This year we made some cosmetic changes along with a new side scanning sonar, Furuno 250. Right now we are heading to wards San Martin island on one of our three day cod trips. Hopefully this weather will come in to the north of us, as for right now its a beautiful down hill ride.

San Martin Island (030510)

Hello everyone;

Sorry about no report from yesterday, but the weather was a bit rough. We arrived to San Martin island at 09:00 hours, and the weather has improved greatly. We put everyone on the island by 09:30 hours. The crew cleaned the boat and did a few small jobs. We will depart at 13:00 hours, and head to Ensenada for clearance, then to San Diego.

We will depart tomorrow night on our Oregon state Baja adventure, and there might not be any reports until the 15th of March, but we will try to keep you informed on our upcoming events. The R\p crew.

Headed for Cedros Island (030310)

Headed for Cedros Island (030310)Hello everyone;

Well we had a little wind today, but not enough to make a difference. We started early with our first group going to the Mangroves, then the rest went whaling. Today was a good for photo opportunitys, with lots of whales put on a great show. Not much of hugging today, and very little kissing, but it was still a great day. After a long day, it was time to leave and head north to Cedros island. The tide was low, and so was the bar. With very little sea, it was easy going out.

We are now headed to Cedros island, and our ETA is 0900 hours. With that note we will keep you posted on our daily events. The R/p crew.
