November 7

November 7The wahoo's didn't bite as well as hoped for, but we sure made up for it with numbers of yellowfin, yellowtail and at the end of the day, flat out full speed dorado action. Our wind comes and goes, overall its good weather. Now its on to find some bigger fish.

November 6After the yellowtail action died down, we went in search of yellowfin tuna. The rest of the day comprised of trolling looking for dolphin schools and catching a fair amount of nice grade yellowfin with lots of black skipjack to weed through. Our weather was inconsistent at best, with the occasional rain squall rolling through and at times lots of wind. By the evening hours all had settled down and we now have a nice ride down swell towards the upper end of the ridge.

We traveled down the coast and found some willing yellowfin along the way, it was a nice way to break up the ride. Since there is sort of a crowde down on the ridge right now we opted to stay the night along the beach and try for some night biting yellowtail, and we found them. We got the anchor down at 10:00 and it was game on until 1:30 in the morning. Every bait on the dropper loops was slurped up by waiting yellowtail. As the action waned from 1:30 till 06:00 it picked up again until we were pretty much done with them at that point. What a night.....
