Hello everyone;
Our weather continues to be good, with a sight breeze, sunny, and warm.

Today was a day of relaxation for our passengers. Some told stories about past trips, while other watched a good movie. Not much else going on, just looking forward to coming home. The R/p crew.

Going home

Hello everyone;
Weather is good, and great for traveling. A slight breeze out of the north, with clear skies and warm.

With only a few hour to fish this morning, the tuna didn't cooperate with us, and we departed at 10:30 hours and headed for home. We might make one stop on the way home, but if not, we will call this one over. We will keep you informed on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

Yellowfin Heat Up (050208)

Hello everyone;
Well the weather out at Clarion is about the same, 10 to 12 knots, clear skies, and warm days.

Today was a good day. Our morning started out with a log, that's right a log (check out the photo). This log was holding small pilot fish and Wahoo. We fished the log for about 30 minutes, by then we had what we needed for the trip on Wahoo. The tuna action picked up today, with some dandy's. Most of the Yellowfin were in the 140 to 175 catogory,with a few school fish, and two going over 200 pounds and one over 300 pounds. Lucky anglers today:
Craig English (210 pounds)
Ken Parnell (257 pounds)
David Fay (330 pounds)

Both Accurate reels for the trip were giving away today. Gary "Chico" Leonard with a 55.8 pound Wahoo, and David Fay with his personnel best 330 pound Yellowfin tuna. We have until 10:00 in the morning before we call this a trip, then we look forward to maintenance, NOT. So until tomorrow, wish us luck the R/p crew.

Some things just change (050108)

Hello everyone;
Our weather is changing here at Clarion. We had 12 to 15 knots of breeze most of the day, then by late afternoon the wind was down to 5 to 8 knots. It's still sunny and warm though.

On the other hand, fishing. We had a scratchy day of Yellowfin tuna fishing, but that's why we call it fishing and not catching. Hope for a better report tomorrow. The R/p crew.

All show and no go (043008)

Hello everyone;
Weather continues to be wonderful. Flat seas, clear skies, and sunny. Today was a bit warm, but that's ok with me.

Today was different from yesterday, with only scratch fishing. The fish put on a great show today, but they just didn't bite for us today. We will continue to try for the next two day, before we have to head home. The fish we did get today were in the 130 to 150 range, with one fish over 200 pounds. Lucky angler today was Ken Parnell, with a 218 pound Yellowfin tuna. This is Ken's first trip aboard the Royal Polaris. Many of our anglers have caught their personnel best this trip so far, and we are looking for more personnel best.

So wish us luck and we will keep you updated on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

P.S. Jerry Brown sends a Happy Birthday greeting to his wonderful wife of many years, Honey Brown. LOLJB

Yellowfin bite at Clarion (revised) (042908)
Written by Royal Polaris
Tuesday, 29 April 2008 22:57
Hello everyone;
We arrived to Clarion at 06:35, and the weather is just beautiful. Flat seas, clear skies, and all the sunshine you could want. It is almost to perfect.

We started looking for schools off the island and we found our first school around 10:00 hours. The life off the island is just outstanding. Lots of birds, bait, and even a few turtles. We scratched away most of the day, with most of the fish in the 150 to 180 pound catogory. We had two fish over the two-hundred pound mark. Jack Gruschus caught his third 200 pound Yellowfin of the trip. Other noticeable anglers were Brandon Kreutel with a 189 pound Yellowfin tuna, John Sturdivant with a 186 pound Yellowfin tuna, and Kathy Rounds with a 202 pound Yellowfin tuna. Also Kathy would like to says thanks to Katie and Kristen for the wonderful cards.

We are hoping for another good day tomorrow, so wish us luck. The R/p crew.
